There is also reported a case, from Chamberlain street. These streets are all in the vicinity of what is known as the "Tip llaed," where a great deal of the refuse of the city is emptied by the town council coun-cil carts, and vhere men. women and children can be seen daily gathering rags from the refuse. These are dried in back yards in the district, and then carted or carried into the city and sold to the rag stores. A meeting of the public health committee has been called to consider steps for preventing further fur-ther extension of the epidemic. |
