Show PROFESSION AT FERMOY. On the 8th inst. the solemn and interesting ceremonies cere-monies of profession took place in the- beautiful church attached to the Presentation convent, Fer-vmoy. Fer-vmoy. The Most Rev. Dr. Brown, bishop of Cloyne, officiated, assisted by the Rev. M. M. O'Callaghan, CO., and Rev. J. O'Keeffc, C.C. The young 'lady who had the happiness to be professed, Miss Julia Byrne, daughter of Edmond Byrne, D. C, Knock-aney, Knock-aney, County Limerick, and fourth in religion, has taken the name of Sister M. Virgilius. The following follow-ing friends of the newly-professed were present: Mr. E. Byrne and Mrs. Byrne, parents; Miss Delia and Teresa Byrne, sisters; Mrs. M. C. O'Shaugh-nessy, O'Shaugh-nessy, cousin, Kilfinane. After the ceremony, in the pretty convent church, the lord bishop and quite a number of friends were entertained to a sumptuous sump-tuous dejeuner by the kindhearted Rev. Mother and community. |
