Miss O'Meara returned last week j from a pleasant trip to San Francisco. j The friends of Miss Julia Hayes will j be pleased to hear that she is recovering recover-ing from her recent illness. Miss Birdie Frey has been ill for the past ten days, but is nearly well now. Mrs. Wells of Helena is visiting Mrs. Henry Sadler. i Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Hopkins of Butte are visiting Mrs. J. H. Mitchell. Dr. D. Moore Lindsay, Victor Clement and Charles Walker have returned from a hunting trip in Wyoming. Mrs. M. E. Lovey returned from southern California last week, accompanied accom-panied by her niece, Miss Mattie Tackaberry. Mrs. F. E. Straup of Bingham left for the east last Monday. She will be absent ab-sent several weeks and will visit Chicago, Chi-cago, New York and other eastern points. j Members of the Alumnae association I of St. Mary's academy met at the I academy last Sunday afternoon to plan , for the annual meeting to he held on the evening of Nov. 4. Another meeting meet-ing will be held on next Sunday afternoon, after-noon, when the programme will be completed. 'Miss Luce, the retiring president of the association, will entertain enter-tain the merehers at her home on the afternoon of Nov. 5. Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Westcott are the happy parents of a baby boy, who was born last Sunday. . ?. Dr. A. M. Bright of Montana was in the city last week.. Dr. and Mrs. C. P. Hough and son have gone to Jefferson City, Mo., to reside. 4; Mr. and Mrs. A. W. McCune have gone to Montana to spend a few days. Mrs. William Skyrme of Butte is the guest of Mrs. A. Fred Wey. . Mrs, W. S. Anderson is visiting relatives rela-tives in Omaha. j Mrs. G. S. Holmes and son have returned re-turned from California. Mrs. Morris Sommer and son are visiting vis-iting relatives in Denver. James Farrell of the Quincy mine at Park City spent a few days here last week. Charles Loring came down from Park City last week to visit his family for a few days. J. J. Daly spent last week in Park City looking after his mining interests. J. J. Mullin and P. J. Donahue have gone to Nevada on mining business. Mrs. R. H. Channing, jr., spent a few days in Bingham last week. J Miss Mollie Alexander and Miss Etta Keisel came down front Ogden last Friday and remained for a few days. Mrs. George Good and baby daughter returned last week from a delightful visit in Denver. Mrs, John B. Gries and son left last week for Wabash, lnd., which will be their future home. Mrs. J. M. Moore" and Mrs. T. B. Black have gone east to visit relatives. Miss Edna Dunn left last week for California, where she ill visit relatives for the next few weks. James McIIugh, the prominent mining min-ing man left last week for an extended eastern trip. Timothy Kinney and Miss Dcr.t and Miss Mary Kinney arrived in New York ten days ago from Europe. Mr. Kinney Kin-ney will arrive in Salt Lake this week and the young ladies are expected to reach here to attend the annual meeting meet-ing and banquet of the alumnae of St. Mary's academy. A large attendance at the Country club last Saturday witnessed the English Eng-lish game of "badninton" olaved bv Mrs. R. H. Channing, Mrs. Fischer, Mrs. Worthington, Mrs. D. J. Sharp and Misses Thorn, A. Nason, Harkness, Judge, McCornick, Laura Sherman, Burke. Salisbury. The prizes were v. on by Miss d3urke. Miss Stella Salisbury was hostess at a beautifully appointed luncheon last week. Mrs. Adams of Denver was guest of honor. The table was artistically artis-tically arranged with pink carnations and maidenhair fern. The favors were small vases of gladioluses. Besides the guest of honor there were present Mrs. Cross. Mrs. Clark, . Miss Sherman, Miss Laura Sherman, Miss McMillan, Miss Leta McMillan. ' Mr. and Mrs. Henry Newell are at home from the east. Professor J. J. McClellan has gone east "for a three weeks' vacation. The Misses Dern were hostesses at an informal Kensington on Tuesday afternoon after-noon of last week. American Beauty roses formed the decorations-. Daniel Harrington of Sunnyside spent a few days here last week. Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Park have gone east to spend several weeks. The many friends .of Miss Mamie Farlinger regret her serious accident, and hope that she will soon recover. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Jones have returned re-turned from Idaho. Mrs. E. C. Peery returned last Monday from California, where he placed his brother in Berkeley university. George Smith, mayor of Park City, spent a few days in the city during the past week. N. P. Dooly left on Thursday for a trip to the south. Frank Hagenbarth and his little daughter, Mary, came down from Spencer last Wednesday to spend a few days with Mrs. Hagenbarth's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Wood. Miss Edith Morrison of Los Angeles, ! who has been the guest of Miss Lucille Mcrrison for the past ten days, left ! for Denver last Thursday. Mrs. Mark Hopkins and Mrs. J. J. Wednesday Mr. Conley returned re-turned to his home. |
