Show Last week P. H. Lannan disposed of all his- interest in the Salt Lake Tribune, Tri-bune, the purchaser named being Perry S. Heath, secretary of the Republican Re-publican national committee. This piece of news would pass along with others incident to affairs of the day, did not the change of ownership also announce the withdrawal of Judge Goodwin from the paper as its chief editor. It seems like losing an old friend, . one who had talked to you every day for the past twenty-four years, and whose life shone out in the fourth page of the paper he made great in this intermountain basin; No expenditure ex-penditure of money for news by the new management of the Tribune is a stand off for Goodwin's editorial page. None there are to take his place, for there is but one Goodwin as there was but one Horace Greeley. |
