Show ANACONDA. With tender and loving hands those who had known John ;F. Ferris when he was in life consigned his b6dy to the grave. . - The members of Alachinists' union No. 88, of Butte, and No. 29, of Ana conda, attended the funeral in a body. In addition hundreds 6f friends of the dead man, by their presence, attested the esteem in which he .was held w hen he was in life. The body, in a handsome hand-some black casket, lay ; in state at Tuttle's undertaking establishment before be-fore the - services at St., Paul's Catholic j Church, and was viewed by hundreds of friends. There were . numerous floral offerings. One piece in particular particu-lar was a broken column, a token from the two machinist unions. There were also numerous wreaths and -flowers from individual friends. The pall-bearers ' were George Stor-rer, Stor-rer, James Sheppard and Alike AIc-Grath AIc-Grath of Anaconda, and Thomas Griffin, Grif-fin, Frank Doyle and John Barrett of Butte. - Interment was in the Catholic cemetery. ceme-tery. .-..-' Accompanied by hundreds of sympathizing sympa-thizing friends, the body of Mrs. Julia Devine, who died at her home in th:s city last week, was tenderly conveyed to its last resting place in Calvarv cemetery. The hearse bearing the remains re-mains of Airs. Devine, headed by the members of the. Daughters of Erin, j Degree of Honor, League of the Sacred Heart and the Ladies and Knights of Security, to which orders Airs, "bevine belonged, proceeded to St. Peter's Catholic church. There Mere . many carriages in the. line and the funeral was one of the longest ever seen in the city. . At ' the church solemn requiem mass was celebrated by Father Do Siere of Butte, Father'Pirnat of St. Peter's and Father Coopman of St. Paul's Catholic church of this city. At the conclusion of the services the funeral procession was re-formed and the long, sorrowful march to the Catholic, cemetery was begun. Deceased was 52 years of age, born in Bantry. county Cork, Ireland. -She came to America when IS. months Yof age with her parents, who' settfed at Joliet, III., and w as married' to- Ed Det vine in 1873. Afterward the Devines moved to Guthrie county, Iowa, where they lived thirteen years prior to coming com-ing to Anaconda, where the deceased has since enjoyed a large .circle of admiring friends. She leaves a husband, hus-band, two sons, five daughters and a brother. Jerry Alahoney, in this city, to survive her, besides other relatives in Illinois. She Was a prominent member mem-ber of the Degree of Honor, Ladies' Auxiliary of" the "Ancient Order of Hi bernians and other societies. Arrangements Arrange-ments have not yet been made for the funeral. j The programmes of the dance to be ; given by Thomas Scallon post. N. S. A. P.. on Hallowe'en night, have been is-i is-i sred.
