City immediately after she has been graduated for a tour of the east. ' J. S. Taliaferro and Dr. E. S. Murray of Rock Springs are in the city on mining min-ing business. f W. P. O'Meara left for San Francisco on Thursday and expects to be there in time to meet his brother, M. J. O'Meara, when he returns from Honolulu.' ' Mrs. Elliott Kelly has gone to Lexington, Lex-ington, Ky where she will stay six weelis. Thence she will go to Atlantic City, N. J., to visit her sister, Mrs. Lyman Ly-man B. Hollingshead, for a short time. , . Kenneth Kerr, traveling passenger agent of the San Pedro railroad, is out with what he calls ' "A "Proclamation to the Brides of June." It is a neatlv framed statement showing choice bridal tours over the San Pedro. Tea and coffee were served in the dining din-ing room by Miss Stella Salisbury and Miss Anna McCornick. There were forty guests. A number of small affairs were given, the hostess being Mrs. Frank McGurrin, who entertained in honor of Misses Mary and Margaret Scallen of Butte, Mont., who have come recently to make Salt Lake their home. Mrs. J. R. Walker entertained a number of friends informally at lunch: Mrs. Packard and D. McPherson Bays also entertained. 4 On June 14 James A. Shorten and Miss Clara Robinson will be married. This announcement will come as a surprise sur-prise to the many friends of the young people. Mr. Shorten is secretary of the mining exchange, and one of the most popular young men in the city.
