A handsomely appointed dinner- was given last week by Judge McHatton in honor of Bishop Carroll, of Helena. Only gentlemen were included in the invitations and a sumptuous menu was enjoyed. The decorations were unusually beautiful and effective and were artistically arranged. Two carelessly care-lessly formed -crescents of pansies. overlaid with misty tulle, occupied the greater part of the surface of the table. Tendrils of asparagus vine inter-wreathed inter-wreathed the tulle, the entire producing i an exquisite effect. The euests lingered until a late hour over the dainties and enjoyed a jolly evening. At the table were: Bishop Carrelf Mousignor Fowler. Reverend Father DeSiere. Reverend Father Callahan. Cal-lahan. Reverend Father Barry, Messrs. J. D. Rvan, D. J. Hennessy, Thomas Lavelle. J. H. Father Giacalone has been in Butte for three years, and -has made many friends who will be sorry to have him leave the city. During the first two years he was an assistant to Father Callihan at Sacred Heart church and a. year, ago when Meaderville was created a separate parish Father Giacalone Gia-calone was put. in charge. He immediately imme-diately erected a handsome church and parish house and has succeeded in raising enough money to pay for it all. A few weeks ago he gave a card party, at which-enough was raised to repaint the buildings. This is an exceptionally ex-ceptionally good record for any man to mak in so short a time. Reverend Father Baschi, S. J..' has been elected to take charge of. Holy-Savior's Holy-Savior's church and will assume charge at once. ANACONDA. The first week of Saint Peter's church fair came to an end Saturday, and from every indication it is certain that the venture w ill prove' aj grand success. The first week was an unusually un-usually , good one. Every evening found the building in which the fair is being held crowded to jts capacity. Every booth was liberally patronized. Froni the fortune teller's booth to 'the cigar stand and from hc ice cream parlor to the lace counter the-fair is one, big success. There is nothing overlooked over-looked in providing a good time for those who visit there, and old and young, together with the middle aged. I join hands and forget their troubles, when they spend an evening seeing the fair. During Sunday nothing will be scld from the booths. The refreshment room will be utilized, however, and a fine chicken dinner will be served during dur-ing the day. The fair has established a reputation for the excellency of the dinners served there.
