Show KNIGHTS GO TO COMMUNION. Members of the Columbus Order Participate Par-ticipate in Services at Cathedral. May IS, 1903. To the Editor Interrnountain Catholic: Dear Sir Last Sunday at the 8 o'clock mass. Sait Lake council No. 602. Knights of Columbus, attended communion com-munion in a body. It is well known by members of the parish that music is not provided for at this service. The worthy little woman who presides at the organ surely makes a day of it. for from the 9 o'clock mass to Vespers there is little rest for her. It was a surprise, one that is appreciated, appre-ciated, therefore, when she came and not only played but brought with her three young soloists to furnish music at this early mass Salt Lake council is small in numbers, members are coming and going constantly. con-stantly. Many of them are out of the city most of the time, so all the 'little details for any event falls to a few. The convention of our order will be held in Ixs Angeles. Cab, next month. That means thousands of our church will pass through Salt Lake, and these few have much to think about, for the simple courtesy expected of them as members of the Knights of Columbus will be taxed to the limit. Now this is not offered in the nature of any excuse, no one has blundered. But Miss Gleason. tactful little woman that she is. realizes our position, and without solicitation of any kind, comes forward and places us under an obligation obli-gation at this time. I want to now offer her the thanks of Suit Lake council, with the hopes that at some later time something more substantial sub-stantial than mere words may be hers. To Miss Clara Fafek, Isabel) Higgins and Florence Locke we are also deeply indebted. They are loyal little women who are a credit to their leader, and their sweet voices are the pride of the parish. Hoping you will give this 'letter the space in your valuable paper that honor and appreciation may be -shown to those it refers to. I remain, yours trulv, C. A. LOCKE. Financial Secretary of Salt Lake Council Coun-cil No. r.(2. Don't forget the Altar Society party, Monday. May 22. Knights of Columbus Hall. Jennings Block. |
