Show The Rule of Example. Parents often complain of their children's chil-dren's want of obedience. These complaints com-plaints would at times be heard less frequently were the conduct of the parents par-ents more exemplary. How many parents par-ents you find whose conduct is far rrom inspiring their children with confidence, respect and veneration toward them. How many parents are selfish, dishonest, dishon-est, devoid of patience, meekness, charity chari-ty and even purity! They break the laws of abstinence, habitually neglect prayer, holy mass', the reception of tht Sacraments, the reading of good books and papers, and yet they expect their children to become models of virtue. We all can only reap that which we have sown. Remember that example !s better than precept. |
