Show ; SOCIAL AND PERSONAL, j Miss Katherine Ryan, the popular young woman so long connected with The Intermountain Catholic, is one of the energetic contestants for the Intermountain Inter-mountain Republican prize trip to the YukonrAlaska exposition. Her many friends are hoping and working for her success. Mrs. S. H. Pinkerton entertained a party of twelve friends last Saturday afternoon at the Colonial matinee, in compliment to Miss Marie Luce. The guests were, besides Miss Luce, Mrs. E. A. Wall, Mrs. P. S. Keogh, Mrs. Joseph Jo-seph Geoghan. Mrs. A. B. Stevenson. Mrs. F. H. Knickerbocker, Mrs. B. O. Mechlenburg, Mrs. James Hughes, Mrs. Isadore Mayer, Miss Morris and Miss Horne. Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Hays, jr., ot Bingham are guests of Mrs. Hays' parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. George E. Grey, for a fc-w days. Mrs. E. M. Charlton has returned from a stay of some weeks In New York. j Mr. and Mrs. D. E. Gleason of Og-den Og-den spent Monday in the city. Mrs. Ralph A. Rudy and Mrs. Charles Rulon will entertain at cards today Tor Miss Marie Luce. Mrs. Thomas L. Powers and daughter daugh-ter came down from Park City to place a wreath of flowers on the grave of her daughter on Decoration day. James Ivers went to San Francises last Tuesday to look after some mines he is interested in. He will return in about two weeks by the Sail LaXo Route. Miss Charlotte Holmes was hosteN Saturday at an elegantly appointed luncheon at the Knutsford in honor of Miss Emma Quigley. The table was graced with a large basket of pink roses, and covers were laid for. besides the guest of honor., Mrs. C. A. Quigley. Quig-ley. Mrs. Claude Williams, Mrs. F. L. Parker, Mrs. Will Brown, Mrs. P. J. Moran, Mrs. A. H. Ensign, Mrs. C. D. Hardy, Miss Ethel Mount. Miss Carrie Sappington and Miss Hazel Shoe-bridge. Shoe-bridge. The luncheon was followed by a box party at th Colonial. Miss Mayme Noble left during the week for the coast to spend the summer. Mrs. A. W. McCune. jr., and little daughter are at the Kenyon for a short time. Mrs. Abboline Barnes was hostess Saturday, June 12. in honor of Mrs. Garrett S. Wilkin, who is spending some time with her. father, Matthew Cullen. Mrs. G. J. Gibson and daughter, Elo-ise, Elo-ise, left Monday for a month's visit in Oakland, Cal., with her sister, Mrs. N. P. Gray. Colonel Wall returned Monday evening even-ing from the east, accompanied by his three daughters. Miss Wall and the Misses Alice and Mary Wall, the first having recently returned from abroad and the others from a winter in school In the east. Mrs. M. H. Kervin will leave Sunday for her home in San Francisco, Cal., after spending some hime here, the guest of Mr and Mrs. J. B. Cosgnff. Miss Hazel Hill will leave the last of June for Fruita, Colo., where she will spend several weeks with friends. Mrs. M. H. Kervin entertained twenty at a table d'hote lunch at the Country club Wednesday. Mrs. O. K. Lewis entertained five tables at a bridge, followed by a number num-ber going in to tea, Tuesday afternoon, in honor of her sister, Mrs. Walter Lewis. The color scheme of green and white was effectively carried out, with large vases of ferns and snapdragons. Prizes were won by Mrs. L. H. Farns-worth, Farns-worth, Mrs. James Ivers, Mrs. C. R. Pearsall, Mrs. C. L. Robinson and Miss Cosgriff. Miss Mayme Noble entertained six at a prettily appointed luncheon at thfc Country club Wednesday. Mrs. Wilson of C9 West Third South, the expert corsetaire, is well worth a visit for fashionable women who dress well. |
