Baldwin was in the city during the week, en route to Fort Assiniboine, Mont., and was a guest at the Judge home during her stay, j Mr. and Mrs. Walter Kelly, formerly of San Francisco, are now at home at, CIS First street. t Mr. and Mrs. A. W. WjiiemiTi and daughter have returned home from a visit to St. Louis. - . . W. J. Halloran and the children left, on Sunday for a visit tu the. World's fair. f Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Neuhausen are the happy parents of a handsome son, born last week. Miss Lena Fafek is spending a few days in the country. Miss Bpgue and Miss Mary Bogue have gone to Denver for a two weeks' viL-it with friends. f- Mr. nd Mrs. Thomas Charlton and babv left on Tuesday for a visit to St. Louis and to Mr. Charlton's home. Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Howard are rejoicing re-joicing over the birth of a baby daughter. daugh-ter. Mrs. Howard was formerly Mary Hunter, a popular pupil of St. Mary's academy of this city, and the old St. Mary's girls will be interested in the little stranger. f Mrs. Mary Bonner of Eureka was a visitor at The Intermountain Catholic office during the past week. Mrs. Bonner Bon-ner is spending a few weeks in Park I City. ' f Don McGuire of Ogden was in the city on Monday. 4 J. J. Burke spent last week in Bingham. Bing-ham. -4.- I Mrs. Fred Peiper and Miss Katherine McDonald will spend the greater part of the summer in California. F. W. Quinn and family of Eureka were in the city on Monday. -- James Mullins of Kemmerer is visiting vis-iting in the city. f Clarence McFadden returned Monday from Boston where he has just completed com-pleted his second year in the Boston University law school. He returns in the fall for his senior year. Hosts of friends are giving him an earnest welcome wel-come home for he is one of Salt Lake's genial, popular young men. Frank Fafek is enlarging his pretty pret-ty home near Liberty park and when completed the residence will be on-? of the most attractive in that part of the city. Mrs. A. W. Dowd entertained on Tuesdaj- at a delightful luncheon. The guests present were: Mrs. D. S. Spencer, Spen-cer, Mrs. H. L. Miller. Mrs. H. N. Mayo, Mrs. Clarence Warnock, Mrs. E. F. Root, Mrs. J. J. Miss Katherine Farrell spent last week in Park City. Mrs. J. P. Kelly returned to her home in Park City last Saturday after a pleasant visit in this city. Edward Murphy was down from Park City on Monday. M. H. Henessey of Park City spent a few days here last week. Dan Martin and wife were in from Eureka last Monday. Clarence A. Locke, for thirteen years in the local railway mail service, and a pioneer in the local civil service, will take a trip into Sonora. Mexico, shortly, short-ly, and it is expected that he will locate lo-cate there, going into mining. Mr. Locke has many friends in the city, who regret his departure, but all wish him good luck in his venture. He is a prominent Knight of Columbus and will be greatly missed by his brother members. f- Mrs. Lulu Ryan of Oakland. Cal., arrived, ar-rived, in the city Monday night and will be the guest for a month of Mr. and Mrs. F. J. McGanney at 342 Third I East street. Invitations were issued Monday by Mrs. Ezra Thompson for a large tea on the afternoon of June 22. Mrs. 51. F. Cunningham and children chil-dren expect to leave for the east next week, to be away all summer. Miss Kinney gave sn informal luncheon lunch-eon at the Country club on Monday. Mon-day. 4 Many friends here and in Park City will be interested in learning of the appointment just received by Dr. W. D. Donoher, formerly tf Park City, but who is now studying in London. Dr. Donoher has been appointed assistant as-sistant to Dr. Sanford Morton at the Great Northern Central hospital, and was chosen from a class of fifteen, all of whom had beeen in the hospital langer than he. 4 Roy Higson. son of C. J. Higson, returned re-turned Tuesday from Wisconsin university, uni-versity, where he. has been studying electrical engineering. Mr. Higson graduated from the Salt Lake High school two years ago. Calvin, who will hereafter make her home in Portland, Ore. Thirteen tables were filled with the guests who enjoyed the game of euchre, the prizes being won by Mrs. D. J. Malone of Pocatello.and Miss Driscoil. The home was beautifully decorated for the occasion. oc-casion. John Hurley of Park City was operated oper-ated upon for appendicitis at the Holy Cross hospital Wednesday morning. The patient, when seen at the hospital this morning (Thursday), was disposed dis-posed to look upon his operation as a huge joke. Miss Mamie Stephens tame home from the Holy Cross hospital Monday last, and is almost completely recovered re-covered from the effects of her operation. opera-tion. Ida., was in the city yesterday. Judg Standrod, who is Republican .national committeeman for Idaho, as well as an Idaho delegate to the national con vention, will leave Pocatello for Chicago Chi-cago tomorrow. f Mrs. George Curtis will return ' the end of the week from a short visit to St. Louis, and will spend the Hummer with her aunt, Miss Mary Rider.
