Show FATHER MURPHY UEiTORIAL TULL0W. On Sunday a special meeting of the Father John Murphy memorial committee was held in the town hall, Tullow, to decide on a design for the memorial, memo-rial, to appoint, a sculptor and contractor to earn- out the w-ork and to definitely arrange the date for the laying of the foundation stone. Several dp. signs were submitted to the committee for approval, and the one forwarded by Mr. George Smyth, sculp' ; tor. Great Brunswick street, Dublin, appeared u I be. the most suitable design, and was selected by tta majority, subject to some changes and alteration.-. L Mr. Thomas Bolger, chairman of the committer,' presided. It was proposed by Mr. Patrick Kavana?h, tnl seconded by Mr. John Dawson: "Resolved, That the following members of the committee be appointed appoint-ed to confer with the sculptor regarding the design and cost of the memorial, viz: Messrs. Thomas En!-ger. En!-ger. (chairman). James Murphy (vice, chairman), Charles F.. McXally. J. P.; Joseph M. Murpliv. 0. T. C. ; Gerald OTooole, T. C, a nd John Foley, T. C. (treasurer): Terence Halligan, T. C, and the srr retary, who begged to be excused for not acpeptinp; the compliment, to act on the deputation.'' |
