Show ... TIIEAYSSE COMMENT... Of COMING ATTRACTIONS HERSHOLT IN SECOND DR. CHRISTIAN PICTURE "Th Courageous Dr. Christian" a worthy follow-up of the successful success-ful Jean Hersholt starring film "Met rD. Christian," and also based on the famous "Dr. Christian" radio ra-dio series comes with an outstanding outstand-ing cast, Wednesday and Thursday to the Isis theatre. With Hersholt in the starring role again, this screen drama con cerns the plight of a group of im. poverished small town folk who have lived for many years without adequate housing. It is through the untiring efforts of the humanitarian humani-tarian Dr. Christian that conditions are improved. Like the "Dr. Christian" radio stories, this film concerns a real life problem, one that exists in many communities troughout the nation. "DANCE, GIRL DANCE," I DYNAMIC DRAMA OF LIFE BACKSTAGE, SMASH HIT How the conflicting ambitions of two pretty dancers and two young ' men involve them in a series of romantic complications which fate 1 eventually resolves for them, pro- vides the absorbing basis of RKO's 1 Radio's dynamic drama of baick stage life, "Dance, Girl, Dance," which comes to the Isis theatre on ' Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. ' Cast in the stellar roles are Matt. 1 reen O'Hara, lonely little dancer ' who hopes to be a prima ballerina; 1 Louis Haywaj'd, irresponsible play ' boy whose impending divorce ' prompts him to seek solace with 1 cue two dancers, and Lucille Ball, gold-digging ichorine. ' Fourth side of the unique quad- rangle is Ralph Bellamy, as a fa- ' mous dance impresario who falls 1 in love at first sight with Miss O'Hara, hopes to win her affections and make her the great dancer she l desires to be, but who finds diffi E culty in convincing her of his true t feelings. The interlinking of these hopes I and ambitions into a dramatic and I comedy pattern, combined with the I spectacular song and dance mint- ( bers filmed on a lavish scale, are l said to make for interest-compell- f ing, sparkling entertainment. n n l |
