Show Hunters Await Opening Of Local Season Shootin' irons were being polished polish-ed up and hunters were pouring over maps of likely deer hunting territory this week as Idaho's hunting season drew near. Migratory bird season, including ducks and geese, will be the first to open on October 16th, a scant two weeks away. Deer season will open four days later on October 2(ith, and pheasant hunting in this county will begin November 1. As in the past a duck stamp with the owner's signature on it must accompany a hunting license. Pump or automatic guns must be plugged to allow only three shells The hag limit is 10 ducks, but the hunter will be permitted to keep them for 20 days instead of the 10 day-limit of last season. The bag limit on geese has been increased from three to four this year. Season on migratory fowl will close December 14, making the season two weeks longer than last year. Deer season in this area will open October 20 and close October 30. No changes have been made in hunting rules, but the deers must be tagged at time of killing Conservation Officer Twrecneil warned. In contrast to the pheasant hunting hunt-ing seasons last year in which many counties had different dates, I he opening of the season will be uniform this year in all counties. All will open November 1 and in this county wrill close November 10; however, the length of the season and hunting days will vary in different localities. Hunters are advised to check closing dates before be-fore planning any hunting trips that will take them to counties other than Franklin. Bag limits on pheasants will also vary according to localities. In some areas the sex of the bird must be taken into consideration in the bag limit, but hunters in this county will be allowed four birds of either sex. |
