Show Funds Withdrawn For Kindergarten At a meeting held at the Washington Washing-ton school Monday evening, plans were formulated whereby it is hoped that the kindergarten, started , through the president's reemployment j program, can be carried on until the , close of the regular school year. Fin-I Fin-I ances for the salary of teachers, from government funds, have been with-j with-j drawn and it will be necessary for the parents of the children and local i organizations to sponsor the balance of the term. j Classes were started the second week in December and the children attending have received a great deal of benefit. Under the president's program pro-gram it was expected that funds would be available from government sources to carry the teachers' salaries through the entire term, but Wednesday Wednes-day of last week Superintendent Reid was notified that checks for the kindergarten kin-dergarten teachers had not arrived and no reason or other information was given. While it is hoped that more funds will be available there is no certainty, and with the classes already organized organiz-ed and work under way, it was deckled de-ckled that it would be to the advantage advan-tage of the children to continue now and abandon the idea of having summer sum-mer sessions. In case other funds should come it would ease the burden bur-den on local citizens, but with the support of the parents and, perhaps, a little community aid, it would be possible to carry on. Mrs. L. J. K:dman and Mrs. Charlotte Char-lotte Villard, capable instructors, have given their services for the past two weeks without pay. The building build-ing is being furnished without cost and the school board offers to furnish fur-nish fuel for the building. It is thought that supplies can be furnished furnish-ed for a nominal amount and from other kindergarten funds. The instructors in-structors ask only a nominal wage (Continued on last page) Funds Withdrawn j For Kindergarten1 i ' (Continued from page 1) and it should not be asking too much 'fur parents to contribute to the cause, i The meeting was in charge of Leo D. , Eardsley, principal of the high school, ! acting chairman.
