Show jNative of Gunnison DiesatDenverHome Mrs. C. H. Jay, daughter of Mrs. J. L. Kearns of this city, died suddenly sud-denly at her home in Denver Monday, according to a message received by Mrs. Kearns Monday afternoon. The information stated that Mrs. Jay was stricken Sunday and was immediately taken to a hospital for treatment, but the malady could not be checked and death followed but a few hours after the women was stricken. Mrs. Jay, who before her marriage was affectionately known as Trixie Kearns, will be remembered by many of the early settlers as a charming young woman. She was born here April 15, 1885, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Kearns. The father passed away here several years ago. Mrs. Jay went to Salt Lake early in her womanhood and attended the schools there. During the year 1910 she was married mar-ried to C. H. Jay, a well known business busi-ness man. The newlyweds later went to Denver, where Mrs. Jay had resided re-sided untO her death. She is survived by her husband, C. H. Jay, three children, Mrs. Helen Lampert, Clyde and Francis Jay, of Denver, her mother, Mrs. J. L. Kearns, one sister, Mrs. Peck of Tooele, Too-ele, and two brothers, Hugh Kearns of Cedar City and Rex Kearns of Gunnison. |
