Show 4-H Club Leaders Set Institute Date Problems confronting rural youths in Utah will be the central theme of a special 4-H club leaders' institute to be held at the Utah State Agricultural Agri-cultural college, September 4-5-6, according ac-cording to D. P. Murray, state club leader. Eugene Merritt, extension economist econo-mist of the United States department of agriculture, Washington, D. C, who has worked with young people of this country for many years, will be in attendance to give some of his rich experiences, observations and conclusions pertaining to the position of young men and women in this modern world. Resident faculty members, together with several specialists from the extension ex-tension service staff, will conduct lectures and class work during the institute, Mr. Murray said. Tours of various kinds and recreational features fea-tures have been arranged for the 200 leaders who are expected to attend from practically all of the counties 'n the state. Delegates to the institute will be selected from the advanced club members mem-bers who are '15 years of age or older. At the college they will be given giv-en opportunities to discuss problems pertaining to young men and women of their age from the standpoint of choosing and preparing for a vocation and providing proper recreational facilities fa-cilities and programs. According to Miss Myrtle Davidson, David-son, assistant state leader, each delegate dele-gate will be appointed to serve on a '. comm'ttee during the institute and to take back to his respective community commun-ity the information received at the college. |
