Show Mr. and Mrs. Antone Bastian and I son Newell, of Salt Lake, returned ! to their home yesterday morning after af-ter spending several days here as the guest of Mis. J. S. -Bastian. I j W. M. E. S. Hinckley, secretary of the Provo Chamber of Commerce, and who was one of the speakers at a democratic rally at Centerfield Saturday Sat-urday evening, was the special guest of Reuben Christensen, an old acquaintance, ac-quaintance, for a few hours Satur-lay Satur-lay afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher Peterson were guests of friends and relatives at Salina Sunday afternoon. Mr.' and Mrs. H. B. Crandall of Salina were Gunnison visitors Sunday Sun-day afternoon. Mrs. Ray B. Metcalf and the Alda and Beulah Metcalf and Mrs. 0 . H. Halverson spent last Saturday -ind Sunday visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Halverson at Provo. . Mrs. C. M. Madsen, accompanied by her sons, Marion and Odell, and Miss Nathalda Christensen, came in from Salt Lake last Saturday and remained over until Sunday evening. They were the guests of relatives here. ' ' Mrs. J. A. Hagan and Marion Madsen were among those from Gunnison Gun-nison attending the elaborate Hal-'owe'en Hal-'owe'en party staged by the students of Wasatch academy at Mt. Pleasant Pleas-ant Saturday night. Mrs.. Nina Nelson was 'the charm-in charm-in ghostess ait a birthday anniversary anniver-sary party at her borne Saturday evening ev-ening when she entertained for twenty twen-ty guests. During the early after-' noon a social time was enjoyed and at four a delicious hot chicken dinner was served. The festivitties were continued until nearly midnight and nusic and other social diversions were enjoyed. - . Dan Larson, who has been absent in Emery county for several month nast, is In Gunnison for a two weeks' visit with Mrs. Larson and the Larson Lar-son children. Norman Andreason, together with W. O. Cluff, salesmanager for the Telluride Power company, Richfield, spent Tuesday and Wednesday here in the interests of their company. LOCAL ITEMS OF INTEREST Mr. and Mrs. Julius Duggins and June and Paul Duggins were motor .travelers to Provo Sunday. They spent the clay with Miss Theresa Duggins, a student at the B. Y. U. Hugh Halverson, who has been absent ab-sent several weeks visiting at Salt Lake and Provo, returned to his home here last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Anderson came down from Salt ake last Saturday Satur-day and were guests of relatives over Sunday. The object of their visit, primarily, was to cast their vote and help swell the big republican landslide. land-slide. , Miss Orzella Kearnes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Keames, has gone to Salt Lake to spend the next few months. Miss Keames will enter en-ter a business college at the capital city, taking a complete business course. |
