Show Stake Conference Is Well Attended David 0. McKay, member of the council of twelve, . and Andrew Jen-: Jen-: sen, assistant church historian, from the general church offices at Salt Lake, were the principal speakers at the quarterly conference held in the Gunnison stake last Saturday and Sunday. The sessions, were held at j the Gunnison Valley high school au-' au-' ditorium, and were well attended. ' The Saturday sessions comprised special meetings of the priesthood I and auxiliaries and Sunday morning there was a general meeting of the Sunday schools and Sunday school officials. Sunday afternoon the general gen-eral conference session was held and at this time Mr. McKay and Mr. Jensen Jen-sen gave splendid discourses. Mr. McKay dwelt along doctrinal subjects, sub-jects, while Mr. Jensen gave interesting inter-esting sketches of the history of the L. D. S. church. A. E. Park, presi- dent of the Gunnison stake, and oth-1 oth-1 e"r local speakers were heard at the general session. - Sunday evening- the time was given giv-en over to the conference meeting of the Mutual Improvement associa-j associa-j tions of the stake. Many members of the organizations throughout the several wards were present at this meeting and .it proved one of the in-1 in-1 teresting of the sessions. Andrew Jensen gave a splendid talk, using as his topic, "His Trip Around the World." Mr. Jensen, during his early ear-ly travels, visited many foreign nations na-tions and his subject was well given and thoroughly enjoyed by his listeners. lis-teners. : j Special musical numbers, given by local talent at the several meetings, added to the success of the conference. |
