Show SnowMeasurements Surpass Late Years Snow measurements at the Gooseberry, Goose-berry, Experiment station and at the Alpine station, embracing" the watersheds water-sheds for this section, are reported by Supervisor J. W. Humphrey at Ephraim to be exceptionally good, and surpass those for years past. Advices from the forest offices yesterday yes-terday morning are to the effect that the 'recent storms, particularly in the - ' mountains, were heavy and the result re-sult is the snows are well packed, giving an assurance of an abundant supply of water for irrigation purposes pur-poses throughout the valleys fed by waters from the watersheds. On February 26, Supervisor Humphrey Hum-phrey and Ranger Ollerton visited the Gooseberry station and made measurements of the snow. The average av-erage depth on the West side is reported re-ported as 67 inches, carrying a water wa-ter content of 20 inches, while on the east side the snow measures 72 inches, inch-es, with a water content of 22 inches. At the Ephraim Experiment station, sta-tion, measurements were taken by S. S. Van Boskkirk February 26 and at that time the snow measured 53 inches deep, showing a water content of 15V2 inches. At the Alpine sta-J tion, located at the top of the moun- tain, the snow is 57 inches deep and carries a water content of between 1 14 and 15 inches. On the Seeley-Creek Seeley-Creek side ,the measurements are reported re-ported to be -approximately the same as at the Experiment station. -Supervisor Humphrey stated that during the months of January and February the precipitatio nat Fair-view Fair-view averaged seven inches for the two months.
