Ernest Halverson, the Provo insurance in-surance representative, spent a few days here this week in the interests of the various companies he repi-e-sents. Howard Roberts, who was confined at the Salina hospital several days last week, where he was receiving special treatment, returned to his home Friday evening. Ray Metcalf and Grover Jensen were motor travelers to Salt Lake Wednesday. They will be absent un-! un-! til the end of the week. Mr. and Mrs. A. Madsen were among those from Gunnison attend-: attend-: ing the Golden Jubilee at Redmond : Monday of this week. The Red-' Red-' mond ward was created fifty years . ago. i LOCAL ITEMS OF INTEREST The Misses Florence and Thelma Larson, who have been absent at Los Angeles for some time past, have returned re-turned to their home in Gunnison for an indefinite stay. Mrs. Andrew Modeen delightfully entertained at a social time at her home Tuesday afternoon, complimentary compliment-ary to Mrs. Hyrum Christensen, who is visiting here from Salt Lake. Needlecraft was the diversion and at five o'clock the hostess served a dainty luncheon to fifteen guests. Members of the 0. N. O. club were the guests of Mrs. A. M. Peterson Thursday afternoon of last week. Needlecraft proved the interesting diversion until five o'clock when chicken dinner was served by the hostess. Miss Melba Metcalf celebrated her birthday anniversary Tuesday afternoon after-noon from four to seven, when she entertained forty-one guests. Contest Con-test games were enjoyed and winners win-ners were Norma Taylor, Jean Lar-sen, Lar-sen, Florence Christensen and Renno Peterson. Following the games a buffet luncheon was served, the Misses Melba Metcalf and Edna Jensen assisting the hostess, Mrs. J. E. Metcalf. Twelve Mile canyon was an attraction attrac-tion for County Attorney C. M. Edwards Ed-wards and family Sunday. A day in the forests and flowers and a splendid splen-did luncheon was enjoyed by the vacationists. va-cationists. Mrs. Sarah Martin, Mrs. D. L. Fullmer and daughter, Miss Ida Elaine Fullmer, of Los Angeles, and Miss LuDeen Jensen, came in from their coast homes last week. They will spend some time here visiting with friends and relatives. E. J. Mower, representing the American Asphalt Roof corporation, spent the early days of the week here and was in conference with Niel Sorenson, the roofing and plumbing expert of Gunnison. 1 Gail Jensen, manager for the Jensen Jen-sen Bros. Gunnison store, has gone to Manti, where he will remain for the week. It is not true that Dan Cupid invited him there he will just look after the Manti store owned own-ed by Jensen Bros. K. Jensen, one of the members of the firm, and who has been stationed at Manti, is looking look-ing after the Gunnison business for the week. Sidney Baxter and S. M. Duggins returned yesterday after having spent a few days at Salt Lake looking look-ing after business matters. |
