Show Two Hundred Enjoy ; Outing at Springs Last Monday was a gala day for the boys and girls of the valley, when ! ?. the annual swim and outing of the' "beet thinners," numbering nearly 200, motored to Crystal springs. The caravan of automobiles carrying the big crowd of happy girls and boys, ! left Gunnison at nine o'clock and a "full day" was made of it, the party returning to Gunnison late Monday evening. The Gunnison Sugar company com-pany was host at the affair. During past years events like that of Monday Mon-day have been held, but the guests declared the 1927 outing superior to any yet given. The beet thinners, C .', divided in groups, were at the springs ;' in force, Gunnison, Centerfield, Clar-- Clar-- ion, Axtell, Mayfield and Sterling being represented with full memberships. member-ships. . Arriving at the springs-swimming was first in order. Bathing suits were donned early and throughout the day it was the fashion at the lunches and at the games, and it was not until the return home trip that the street dress was again in use. .'A The big pool was alive with lively boys and girls and nothing of importance im-portance happened to mar the happiness. hap-piness. .'.
