Show Pioneer Day Will Be Observed Here The Gunnison and Hamilton wards have combined and will celebrate the 80th anniversary of the landing of the first Mormons in Utah, next Monday. Pioneer day, as the day is commonly known, comes on Sunday this year and the festivities celebrating celebrat-ing the event will be given Monday, the 25th. Due to the fact that many are leaving for the mountains and resorts, no elaborate event is expected, expect-ed, but due respect will be paid in commemoration of the sturdy pioneers who landed in Utah eighty years ago. The principal feature will be an appropriate program, which will be given at the Casino at ten thirty on Monday morning. Miss Ada Peterson Peter-son has been chosen to represent "Utah," and she will be attended by two maids. At two o'clock in the afternoon there will be a dance for all children at the Gunnison Valley high school building and at three thirty a special matinee will be held at the Casino.
