Show Edwards Reunion Largely Attended The se.conl annual reunion of the Edwards Genealogical organization was closed Saturday evening with pomp and glory, following a three-day three-day session. One hundred and sixty-eight sixty-eight members of the organization, including the children, were here to attend the reunion, and from the opening op-ening day until the concluling hour all attending had a royal time. The reunion opened Thursday afternoon and sessions were held that day, and Friday and Saturday. The shady groves at Palisade park were chosen for the place of the reunion re-union and a veritable city was formed form-ed with the many tents. ' Cooking and sleeping quarters were maintained main-tained at the park and the -members of the association made headquarters there. On the opening day, following the building of the "temporary" city, a splendid program of music, addresses and other interesting diversions, furnished fur-nished amusement for the throngs. Friday evening another program was given at the "bowery," and at the conclusion of this program, all joined in dancing. The Thursday j and Friday programs were under -the direction of J. W. Edwards. j Saturday afternoon was devoted to attending to the business matters of . the association. No new officers ! were selected, it being the unanimous decision that the present officers serve for another year. Reports of committees and other minor matters, j however, were given attention. It was voted to hold the third annual reunion of the organization next j J July, and Palisade park was chosen j as the place. Solon Edwards, of : Sterling, and president of the organ- j ization, presided at the business ses-! sion. Members of the organization from j Idaho, the Uintah Basin, Emery i county, Salt Lake City, Sevier county coun-ty and Millard county were numbered number-ed among those present at last week's reunion. Before the closing I of the session a vote of thanks was ! extended to the management of Pal-1 Pal-1 isade park for the generosity extend- ed and for the many favors given I during the three-day session of the I organization. j |
