Show Potato Growers To Incorporate Soon Further steps towards the organization organ-ization of the Gunnison Valley Potato Po-tato Growers were taken at a meeting meet-ing held in this city last week, when a meeting of the special committee named to formulate articles of incorporation incor-poration and submit a set of by-laws by which the group of growers will be guided. The committee, comprising compris-ing George Bond, Joseph Erickson. Joseph Jensen, Fred Kammerman and Ira Overfelt, of this valley, and County Agent C. O. Stott, gave- an encouraging report at the meeting. The articles of incorporation, which were submitted at the meeting, were complete in every detail, and soon the papers will be filed with the secretary sec-retary of state and the clerk of Sanpete, San-pete, county. A set of by-laws was also prepared and submitted at the committee meeting and copies are now in preparation to be sent to each and every member belonging to the association. Another important matter considered consid-ered at the committee meeting was the marketing plan. When it was announced that by having the organization organi-zation incorporated under the laws of Utah, making it possible for the members to be affiliated under the cooperative marketing plan, much , eagerness was shown to rush the organization or-ganization to completion as quickly as possible, and it is expected that all details will have been completed and the Gunnison Valley Potato , Growers regularly organized by the time the crop is ready to harvest. Some seventy-five acres have beeT planted in various parts of the valley val-ley and a recent survey of the crop conditions indicates splendid returns this fall. The market, too, is strong., at this time and every indication points that, by being in on the marketing mar-keting plan, those engaged in the business this year will be materially benefited. "Z i |
