Show ARID STATES READY FOR DRIVE, Request Congress for $250,000,000 Appropriation Ap-propriation for Reclamation Service. Salt Lake City With the selection of an executive committee and the definite defi-nite adoption of a request that congress con-gress appropriate for the use of the United States reclamation service $250,000,000 for the completion of projects pro-jects under way and the building of others which have been planned, the Western States Reclamation association associa-tion adjourned its first conference, here Saturday afternoon. Governor D. W. Davis of Idaho, who called the conference, continues as president of the association, W. W. McDowell of Butte, lieutenant governor of Montana, Mon-tana, was elected vice president, and the various state delegations selected their committeemen. According to Governor Davis, it was agreed at the conference Saturday night that a meeting of the executive committee should be held in Washington Washing-ton as soon after the opening of the regular session of congress next month as possible. Governor Davis, backed by the committee, proposes to urged the governors of all the states represented repre-sented in the association to go to Washington for this meeting. It is then proponed to meet with the congressmen con-gressmen and senators from the western west-ern states, outline to them the program formed at the conference here, and make plans for placing it before congress. |
