Show 1 were honored lust Thursday evening when the members of the Royal Neighbors and the T! issioiu-ry Society Soci-ety ot the Presbyterian church, both of which Mrs. Wciser belonged, tendered ten-dered them a farewell prior to the':r departure for the east. More tha:i fifty were persent and a most delightful de-lightful evening was spent. Music from the phonograph was furnished and charades proved an interesting pastime. A delicious lunch of sandwiches, sand-wiches, salad, coffee, cake and ice cream was served to ull those present. pres-ent. In behalf of both societies, Mrs. Ira Overfelt presented Mrs. Weiser with a beautiful set of knives and forks of the Community siiver brand Daniel Larson, one 'of Gunnison's prominent farmers and stockraisers, has forsaken bachelorhood and last Wednesday he joined the ranks of the benedicts by claiming Mis3 Tes- vie Melior, of Fayette, as his bride. The ceremony was performed by County Clerk F. R. Lamb at Manti and was witnessed by only a few of the most intimate friends of the con-, trading parties. Yesterday afternoon, after-noon, at the home of the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Larson, a big banquet, serving both as a wedding wed-ding and Thanksgiving supper,was served at an informal reception of the iiewly'weds. A number of the relatives of both Mr. and Mrs. Larson, Lar-son, together with a few invited friends, were present at the reception and the bride and groom were the recipients of many beautiful and useful use-ful wedding presents. Mr. and Mrs. Larson will make their home in Gunnison. Gun-nison. - o Mrs. J. Ben Roper formally entertained enter-tained some fourteen of her friends at her homo last Friday afternoon. The gathering was called for the purpose pur-pose of effecting an organization of a social club. The afternoon was pleasantly spent in cards, Miss Ad-die Ad-die Childs being the victor in the' contest for the prize. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Roper. o Miss ElnaTMyrup, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. N. C. Myrup, and Raymond Dibble, instructor in the public schools at Mapleton, were united in marriage last Wednesday, the ceremony cere-mony being performed at the ManU temple. At the home of the bride's parents this evening a wedding reception re-ception will.be tendered Mr. and Mrs. Dibble. ' Dinner will be served and some twenty-five guests from Gunnison Gun-nison and outside points will be present. pres-ent. Mr. and Mrs. Dibble will leave irl a few days for Mapleton, where they will take "up their permanent residence. ure the prizes offered for the best : scores at "500" and the contest is proving keen with the experts. At Tuesday evening's gathering Mrs. Ray Mctcalf won the ladies' prize while the gentlemen's prize was won 1 by Arthur Christensen. Mrs. Jones served her guests a three-course delicious de-licious lunch. The next meeting of the clul) will be held at the home of i Mr. and Mrs. Daunt Sanders. j Mrs. O. H. Kalverson entertained a few friends at "500" last Saturday afternoon at her home in the eastern east-ern part of town. She was assisted in receiving by Mrs. Ray Metcalf. The victors in the card games were Mrs. Charlotte Villard, for first prize, and Mrs. J. M. Knighton, second prize. Refreshments were served. o Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Weiser, for several years residents of the valley, Society The sixty-eighth anniversary of Albert Al-bert Swain was celebrated Wedensday if last week when the children and grandchildren gathered at the home for the occasion. At six o'clock a sumplu-;us sumplu-;us supper was served and after games were played and a general good time had. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Swain and family, Mr. and Mrs. C, II. Childs and family and Mrs. L. L. Child;;. The members of the Tuesday Evening Even-ing club were delightfully entertained entertain-ed at, the home of Mr. and Mrs. .1. W.
