She had several of her sisters and a brother come for the Henrieville School Reunion. Her guests included Layn and Carolyn Davies of Washington, Utah; ; Dar and Helen Smith of St. George, Janet Le Fevre and Connie Kleese both from Cedar City, and Ivan and Inez Winberg from Kearns. They enjoyed visiting vis-iting with one another at Gloria's home and with George and Ada Thompson at . Cannonville as well as the other former students and friends at the Henrieville School Reunion. Many who attended had not seen former classmates and friends for several decades. It was a pleasant, happy and joy- . ous experience for all those who came. Thayne Smith and , helpers deserve the thanks and appreciation for organizing that wonderful home town event. Gloria, who was recovering from an earlier accident, had surgery on Apr. 30 in the Valley . View Medical Center. Her son . Bart Palmer of Tropic went to Cedar City to bring her home the next day. We wish her a speedy recovery and send our love and prayers for a healthier future. Wallace and Mary Ott have been pleased to have Mary's sister sis-ter Eliza Porter of Iona, Ida., here visiting. She drove down by herself to stay for a few days and to visit with family and friends. A friend of hers from Iona, Gladys Quilter Tanner, also was here visiting her daughter Sandra Poe, and they got together to spend some time. Gladys had come to attend the Henrieville School Reunion. Congratulations to Lewis and Alayse Roundy on the birth of their first child. They had a beautiful little daughter and have named her Kim Alayse. What a wonderful addition to this young family. We are sorry to hear of the passing of Margaret Mecham's, mother Melva J. Maylin Redford in Salt Lake City. We send our love and prayers to Margaret and her family on their loss. Margaret is married to Lowell Mecham. Gerald and Shauna Talbot and family went north to be with Shauna's mom and Stan and Nellie Mecham also attended the funeral in Salt Lake City. Agnes Littlefield is finally home from the hospital and had to go to St. George to check with her doctor. Catherine Littlefield is staying with Agnes and took her to St. George for a new pacemaker. We want Agnes to know we have her in our thoughts and prayers and wish her a speedy recovery from all of this. Kent and Betty Wintch had son Rhett and his boys Nathan and Brycen all of Idaho Falls here for a visit. They came to check up on Betty and to help Kent put in his garden. Betty says that all of her children are taking turns coming to their home and helping out with various vari-ous duties around the house. She is delighted to have them come to visit. Saw Charlie and Eva Dean Francisco in Church on Sunday and it was so good to finally see Eva Dean able to be up and around again. They both have had a rough time of it this last winter. Happy to see them looking look-ing so good. Afton and Dell 'Rae Pollock had Dell Rae's brother and sister-in-law Chuck and Ellie Campbell of California visiting for a few days. They brought their daughter Laurie and her husband Phil and two daughters, Emily and Renae with them. They hiked, visited, and picnicked pic-nicked and had a great time together. The two teenage girls were very impressed with the things that the teenagers here have to do to keep busy. Dell Rae was surprised she said because we don't even have a mall for them all to shop at here. The Pollocks enjoyed the visits and wish it could have been longer. Clint and Lori Mecham had two pretty young ladies visiting them this weekend, Kathy Lee and her friend Wendy came to stay the weekend and visit with the Mecham family. Congratulations to Rebecca Wagstaff who has been called to be an assistant Bear Cub Scout leader and to Brannon Mecham and Megan Clarke who are now the Young Adult Activities Coordinators in the local Tropic LDS Ward. We welcome Natalie Moore and Kathy Smith to the Tropic area. They both are working at the Hungry Coyote at the Bryce Valley Inn. Natalie hails from New England and is the assistant assis-tant manager at the Hungry Coyote. |
