Forest Service personnel work diligently to complete repairs from last year's devastating flood damage to the new bike trail through Red Canyon. They are moving larger boulders into place and burying them deeper into the base of the trail as protection against any future flooding. The trail, now open to cyclists, is already expe- riencing substantial use and the Forest Service expects work to be completed within days. The unanticipated intensity of the flood, the worst in more than 30 years, surprised engineers as waters poured down more heavily heavi-ly in untraditional locations under changing weather patterns. |
