PUBLIC NOTICE The Powell Ranger District, Dixie National Forest, is preparing prepar-ing an environmental assessment for the proposed Sevier Plateau Fire Management Project. The project analysis area includes all Forest Service administered lands on the Powell Ranger District north of Utah State Highway 12. The project area is commonly known as Mount Dutton and the Sevier Plateau. The proposal involves the approval of prescribed pre-scribed natural fire within the analysis 3rea. In general terms this proposal will provide the Powell Ranger District the option to allow naturally caused fires to burn under certain conditions in the analysis area. This proposal will also involve management ignited fire within a portion of the analysis area between Sanford Creek and Red Canyon. The purpose of this notice is to allow the public to inform the Powell Ranger District of concerns con-cerns they may have if this project proj-ect is approved, while meeting the requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act.
