Show By Marlene Haws 826-4859 Many friends and relatives gathered gath-ered in town to be with the family of Stanley Haycock and to attend the funeral services of Neta Haycock. Hay-cock. Besides the family of Gordon and Almeda Haycock, who already live here, there were the families of Doug and Barbara Haycock, Shane and Amelia Haycock, Natalie Mal-lory Mal-lory and Kim Manuli, all of Las Vegas, Nev.; Woodrow and Helen Haycock, and Mitch and Judy Haycock, Hay-cock, Salt Lake City; and Shawn and Patrice Haycock, Mesa, Ariz.; Jack and Janice Reardon, Cedar City; and Dawneta Dunham, Tropic. Other relatives and friends included in-cluded Jolyn Peterson, Payson, who also stayed overnight with her parents par-ents LaVern and Mary Griffin; Craig and Kelley Lundberg and Tom and Mitzi Boravatz, Salt Lake City, who stayed overnight with their father, Clem Griffin; Stanley's Stan-ley's sisters Laura Sheldon and son Nevin, Bountiful, and Isabell Haycock Hay-cock and two daughters, Renea and Beth Ann; and Jerald Haycock, Sandy; Shirley and Bruce Haycock, Leland and Garna Kay Deuel, Sandra San-dra Cox, all of Tropic; LaDon and Billie Dean Ellett, Salt Lake City; Rae Smith Henrieville; Reed and Elnora Williams, Spanish Fork; Erma Kelley, Gunnison; Dale and Viola Baker and Marva Baker, Teas-dale; Teas-dale; Dewey and Ramola Woolsey, Bicknell; Bud and Wanda Woolsey, Morgan; Afton King and daughter Beverly, Richfield; Joan Schow, Leeds; Calvin and Ann Durfey, St. George; Donna Rae Brian, Loa; Doris Thurgood, Morgan; Gloria Vincent, Hanksville; Sara Black, Beaver; Susie Thurston, Salina; Wayne and Pat Banks, St. George and the DeVon Poulsons, Richfield, who are the parents of Helen Haycock. John Townsend had hip surgery three weeks ago and we just found out about it. David, his son, says he has thrown one of his two crutches away and is getting better every day. John has a lot of spunk he'll be good as new before long! Brennen Griffin, grandson of Lynn and Judy Griffin, is still having hav-ing problems since his kidney transplant. He has only been home, in Cedar City for less than two weeks since the surgery. He is in Salt Lake City now where he is in and out of the hospital intermittently. intermit-tently. We hope he can soon be a well little boy and able to be home. Clem Griffin is in Salt Lake City where he has had surgery at this writing. His brother, LaVern Griffin says he is doing well and they expect a full recovery. Hurry home, Clem. Nancy Porter is convalescing at home following surgery. Hope you'll feel better now, Nancy. Ben Porter and Mate Baugh, of Tropic, went to Phoenix, Ariz, and brought Blake Robinson home for the summer. Maybe some of you guys could run a few horses around the track every few days to keep Blake entertained while he is here! Thais Griffin just returned home from another trip! She went to Hawaii with her sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Art Crosby of Panguitch. Gene stayed home to help Brent keep the store stocked up. Since they have the only grocery gro-cery store in town now it keeps them hopping'. Bill and Dawn Griffin are grandparents, grand-parents, one more time! Congratulations Congratu-lations to Brian and Sue Lynn Griffin, Grif-fin, Richfield, who are the proud, parents of a new little boy, Matthew Mat-thew Lars. Little Matthew has three sisters and a brother to help welcome him home. A good friend of Gary Liston, in St. Johns, Ariz., flew to Escalante last week and took Dustin Shakespear, Elisa Cottam, Escalante, Esca-lante, and Bret Fullmer, Boulder, to St. Johns for the Junior Prom of Emilee Liston, Gary's daughter. (See ESCALANTE On Page 8-A).. Escalante News From Page 2-A They had a good time at the Prom and enjoyed seeing the scenery from the air! Ryan Cottam attended the athletic ath-letic Brigham Young University invitational in Provo and took first place in the high jump. His jump was six feet six inches. Curtis Mclnelly has received his LDS mission call. He will be going go-ing to Edinburg, Scotland. If you thought you saw someone some-one playing Tarzan and Jane in the trees at Theron Mitchell's and the Starns Mecham home last week, it was only Linda Haycock trying to capture a parrot that had escaped from the school kids. They finally had to call the fire department and they were able to get the bird back into captivity. Vada and Ed Martin, Orem, have been spending some time at their home here. Don't know why they think they have to rake and clean. Their yards already look like they have been swept with a broom. Frank and Leslie Venuti have their street filled with huge mounds of dirt. Frank says Leslie is building build-ing a new family room and he may decide to build a theme park with all the dirt! Only kidding! |
