Show Thanks To Panguitch Folks And All Of The Others Tomorrow is May 15. It comes every year, on schedule, as always. On this May 15, however, there is a difference on this day, in this year... It is the birthday of my niece, Shawn Ann Taylor. For all 'practical' purposes, she should not be celebrating her earthly birthday with us this time around. As many of you know, she was diagnosed with a very rare, 1 aggressive type of cancer in January 1997. After two, count'em, two transplants, followed by an extra measure of local radiation, she has no evidence of disease... All of us handle situations differently. I believe due to Shawn's "Faith in Every Footstep", and the enduring support of her husband, Jeff, her children, Krystal, Bryce, and baby Jace, Shawn knew she had to live. God is the only one who knows the manner in which she has touched the lives of others -not because of the cancer, but because of the person she is. There is something else here. Something that continues to amaze me. The very thought of a town gathering together to raise funds, provide meals and childcare, donate sick days for Shawn. ..the list is so long, and so wonderful. There is no humanly way to thank all of you. You know who you are, and so does God. Please join our family in wishing Shawn a very happy birthday. Wonder what she will wish for when she blows out those candles? I haven't a clue. What else could she possibly need... Aunt Cathy Williams Arcadia, Calif. |
