Show ' 1 " -' " 1 1 " " ' f ' 'r-' ; ' ! ' ' 1 ' ' - Ashley Owens is all smiles as she poses with her idol Wynonna Judd. The 12-year-old spent her 'dream-come-true" night in Las Vegas recently as the guest of the famous entertainer who rolled out the red carpet for the Panguitch Middle School 7th grader. A Dream Comes True As Ashley Meets Wynonna PANGUITCH Ever since 12-year-old Ashley Owens was three, her favorite vocalists have been the world-famous singing Judds Naomi and Wynonna. Ashley has been an active member of Wynonna Judd's fan club since joining three years ago. When she found out Wynonna would be performing at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas in March, Ashley wrote her a fan letter saying how much she would like to attend her show and meet her personally. Nothing could have surprised Ashley more than the telephone call from Wynonna's personal secretary saying the popular singer was so impressed with Ashley's letter that, she could expect a personal response from the star. Next came just that a personal letter from Wynonna Judd with tickets to her show and special stage passes. She asked Ashley to send her a photo so she would be able to recognize her at the Las Vegas show. Friday, March 13 was Ashley's Ash-ley's lucky day and Mom Ruth Owens got in on the fun. The concert was great, they said, and meeting Wynonna was the nicest part of their special day "She was so sweet to us," said Ashley, "and we got lots of great pictures!" They also received signed CD's, an autographed towel, and a special photo for Ashley's friend Stacee Stewart, daughter of former Panguitch residents Kyle and Cindy Stewart, now living in Las Vegas. "It was every young girl's dream," said Ruth Owens. "Wynonna "Wy-nonna was so warm, personal and affectionate with Ashley." Ashley, a 7th grader at Panguitch Pan-guitch Middle School, is the daughter of Glade and Ruth Owens. |
