Show Garfield Facility Notes Hospital Week With Programs "May 9-13, National Hospital Week," said Wayne Ross, administrator adminis-trator of the Garfield Memorial Hospital in Panguitch," was successfully suc-cessfully recognized in Panguitch. It was used as a time of appreciation apprecia-tion for the employees and staff and to acquaint the public with some of the various programs sponsored by the facilities." A special luncheon honoring the nursing staff that was scheduled for Friday of Hospital Week was rescheduled for Friday, May 27 at the Lazy J Steak House, said Ross. During the week, the public was invited to visit the hospital for a tour of the facility and staff members mem-bers were invited to a free lunch held on the hospital grounds and featuring hamburger, hot dog, potato salad, relish trays, chips and all the traditional picnic foods. On Wednesday, open house day, Dr. Phillip Andrus conducted a glaucoma clinic. During the morning morn-ing the hospital provided blood pressure screening, glucose tests, and blood typing without charge for those who requested them. Healthy snacks were available to all who came to the hospital. The Garfield Memorial Hospital has approximately 700 admissions yearly. Nearly 100 births are recorded each year. There are 1150 visits to the emergency room each year and over 17,750 visits are made to the clinics in Panguitch, Escalante, Cannonville, Circleville, and Glendale. Home Health nurses made 925 visits to homebound individuals. The hospital is a major employer in Garfield County. It is owned by Intermountain Health Care, Inc., and is a not-for-profit corporation. |
