Show Hearing To Mull Proposed Telephone Rate Increase The board of directors of South Central Utah Telephone Assn., Inc. has announced a rate hearing for the Cannonville exchange to be held on Tuesday, May 24, at 7 p.m. at the Bryce Valley High School gym for the purpose of presenting and hearing hear-ing comment on a proposed rate increase. As announced in the annual meeting for the past three years, the process of divestiture and deregulation deregula-tion has shifted the burden of revenue rev-enue requirement from toll service to local service. The company has been able to operate without a rate increase since 1975. The shift in the settlement process, however, now makes a rate increase for local service prudent and necessary, company representatives claim. The company has sent letters to its telephone customers encouraging encourag-ing them to attend the hearing where the proposed tariff will be addressed in detail and where questions ques-tions may be asked. |
