Show Mark Bybee Heads Up Panguitch Job Service PANGUITCH Mark Bybee returned to the starting place of his Job Service career when he took over in January as office manager of the Panguitch Job Service office. Bybee replaces long time manager and well-loved resident Nida Mae Jensen who retired after 31 years of service. His new position has brought him full circle from the time he started in June of 1967 in the same office, moving two years later to Roosevelt to work as a team leader in the Work Incentive (WIN) program pro-gram which wasn't being offered in the rural area of Panguitch. Born in Tropic, Bybee was a 1952 graduate of then-Tropic High School. He served an LDS mission to the Great Lakes area from 1955-57, 1955-57, then served in the Army from 1958-60. He started college at the college of Southern Utah in Cedar City in 1961 and received his B.S. degree in secondary education at Utah State University in Logan. He married Chloeen Callister of Delta at the Manti LDS temple in 1967. They are parents of three grown and married children. Oldest son Stanley is stationed at Williams Air Force Base in Phoenix and resides in Chandler, Ariz. Their daughter, Mrs. Steven (Shiree) Johnson, lives in Elsinore. Their youngest son,. Zane, is attending school at Southern Utah University in Cedar City. Bybee taught school for a time at the Bureau of Indian Affairs at Fort Wingate in New Mexico. He also taught social sciences from 1965-67 at Delta High School. A second masters degree, in education focusing on counseling, was earned : S ' f ' : ! j V ' I I .3 Mark Bybee at Brigham Young University in 1977. His desire to continue in the WIN program led him from Roosevelt Roo-sevelt to Salt Lake City where he functioned as a supervisor in the program until 1974 when he transferred trans-ferred to Richfield, residing in Monroe. He became a lead interviewer for the next six years, in the office with from 8 to 10 employees. Asked why he remained with Job Service so long, he enthusiastically enthusiasti-cally focused on the variety of programs pro-grams offered. The programs are constantly changing, he says, always al-ways being updated to meet the new needs of the times. Currently such programs include unemployment un-employment insurance, apprenticeships appren-ticeships job placement, partnerships, part-nerships, school-to-work, etc. |
