Show Stolen Pickups Linked To Escalante Crimes County law enforcement officers are searching for a dark blue 1984 Ford pickup truck stolen late Thursday night or early Friday morning from the property of Lincoln Lin-coln Lyman in Escalante. The theft appears to be connected con-nected to an earlier theft in Panguitch Pan-guitch of a 1987 White Ford pickup stolen from the residence of Garfield County Commissioner Tom Hatch on Wednesday, February 26.. Hatch's vehicle was found early Saturday morning hidden in some cedars at the entrance to Hole-in-the-Rock road just outside Escalante. Esca-lante. Tyler Lyman, searching for his father's missing truck, found the Hatch pickup and notified officers. Mounted on the vehicle was a license plate that had been stolen the day before from a pickup owned by Dan Spencer in Escalante. Escalante area Sheriffs deputy Celeste Bernards said that two persons per-sons had attempted entry into two different warehouses in Escalante . They loaded Lincoln Lyman's pickup with property stolen from Lyman's warehouse. She is in hopes that Escalante residents may have spotted the vehicles and their occupants and will step forward with information to lead to their apprehension and the recovery of Lyman's pickup. |
