Show ( (mm mmmm ) Doyle Grant Clark CANNONVILLE Doyle Grant Clark, age 68, died February 28, 1992 at the Valley View Medical Medi-cal Center, Cedar City, Utah. Born Jun. 17, 1923 in Can-nonville, Can-nonville, Utah, the son of Owen Wilford Clark and Ethel Henderson Clark, he married Gloria Johnson Dec. 26, 1947 in Winslow, Ariz. The marriage was later solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple on Feb. 7, 1957. He was a graduate of Tropic High School and Naval veteran, having served in WWII. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator op-erator by the National Park Service for 29 years, retiring in March of 1991. He was a rancher and cattleman. He was active in community affairs af-fairs and served on the Cannonville Irrigation Water Board and Town Council. A member of the LDS Church, he served in many leadership leader-ship positions and in the Sunday School for 35 years. He loved the outdoors where he spent many hours with his family. An avid basketball fan, he was attending the Region 12 Basketball Tournament in Cedar City when he became ill and was taken to the hospital, where he died. He is survived by his wife, Cannonville; four daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Deene) Baugh, West Valley City; Mrs. Fred (Tonya) Syrett, Bryce; Mrs. Kowan (Melanie) Ott, Eager, Ariz, and Mrs. Klin (Nancy) Chynoweth, Henrieville; 15 grandchildren; grand-children; one great-grandson; four brothers, Kay Clark, Henrieville; Kenneth Clark, Salt Lake City; Sheldon Clark, Cannonville and Merlin Clark, St. George. He was preceded in death by a son, Doyle Gary Clark. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Tues-day, Mar. 3, 1992, at the Cannonville Can-nonville LDS Ward Chapel in Cannonville Can-nonville with Bishop Joe Thompson Thomp-son officiating and Gay Shakespeare providing prelude and postlude mu- -" "" " i Doyle Clark sic. The family prayer was offered Ron Baugh followed by an invocation invoca-tion by KoWan Ott. The grandchildren grand-children rendered a special musical selection and tributes were given by Fred Syrett and Klin Chynoweth. A vocal solo was performed by Ralph Chynoweth with thoughts by Jim Clark and remarks by Bishop Joe Thompson. A final musical selection was sung by the Cannonville LDS Ward Choir with Anita Fletcher directing and accompanied accom-panied by Gay Shakespear. The benediction was offered by Nephi "Buzz" Johnson. Pallbearers were Golden Johnson, John-son, Steve Clark, LaGrande Johnson, John-son, Marlin Johnson, Don Williams, Wil-liams, Reed Butterfield, Sheldon Clark, Merlin Clark and Kay Clark. Flower girls were Candace Olsen, Brooke Baugh, Tahnee Syrett, Kali Ott and Charlee Ott. The dedication of the grave was performed by Ken Clark with military mili-tary rites by the Bryce Valley American Legion Post 18. Interment Inter-ment was at the Cannonville Cemetery Ceme-tery under the direction of Neal S. Magleby & Sons Mortuary, Richfield. |
