Show 1 Wendy Byron Correspondent For Escalante ESCALANTE-- The Garfield County News welcomes on board its newest correspondent Wendy Byron By-ron who will write the Escalante News column.each week. Wendy and husband Anthony Byron and their 3-year-old son Levi moved to Escalante recently from Kearns when Anthony was named Escalante's new chief of police. Wendy, although born in Salt Lake City, lived in Escalante for awhile as a young child, leaving for northern parts of the state when she was nine. She became a member of the well known Salt Lake City dance troupe Young America Entertainers starting in the 9th grade through her senior year at Kearns High School. She is accomplished in ballet, tap and jazz. She attended Southern Utah State College where she met Anthony at a dance. The two have been married for four years now and Wendy says she's lucky to have a husband who still enjoys dancing. "People in Escalante have really given the Byrons a warm welcome," wel-come," she said. Even though she misses her old friends and shopping, shop-ping, she said loves the slower pace of Escalante and is eager to make new friends. She says she really looks forward to writing the weekly column for Escalante as a good way to get to know everyone. She encourages en-courages everyone who doesn't know her to get acquainted and to give her a call with their items for the newspaper. |
