Girls are excited about upcoming July 24 activities at which they will reign 1991 Homecoming Rodeo Royalty Selected Friday Thirteen-year-old Tara Excell was named Homecoming Rodeo Queen in competition held June 28 at Panguitch City Park. She is the daughter of Greg and Jane Excell. Joining her as reigning royalty are Princess Amber Miller, 14, daughter of Jim and June Ann Miller, and Attendants Amanda Talbot, 13, daughter of Mike and Cindy Talbot and Marci Decker, 13, daughter of Joe and Lorena Decker. Competition included a personality person-ality interview with intensive testing test-ing of the entrant's knowledge of horsemanship and rodeo events. In the horsemanship competition, each contestant also had to ride her horse in a prescribed pattern and was judged on mounting, walking, cloverleaf, two sizes of figure-eight patterns, a slide stop and dismounting. dismount-ing. Judges were Ron and Sherri Bohleen of Cedar City. Ron Bohleen is a horse trainer who teaches at Southern Utah University. Univer-sity. Top prize was awarded by the Panguitch Homecoming Committee: Commit-tee: $75 to the queen, $55 to the princess and $55 each to the two attendants. at-tendants. S&C awarded a $10 gift certificate; H&R, curry combs to the princess and attendants and a hoof pick to the queen, a tack box from Panguitch Drug, flowers from Panguitch Floral, and T-Shirts from Little Indian Curio. Foy's Country Comer provided dinner for the judges jud-ges and Eatables refreshments during dur-ing the competition.
