Show Agreement Made In Airport Contract In regular session at the county court house in Panguitch, the county commissioners came to an agreement with Paul Cox, lessee at Bryce Canyon Airport. Cox came to the meting to discuss the possible revision of his contract with the county. He felt that he had lost money during the past year because of keeping a man at the airport through the winter, he asked the county to help him come to a solution regarding the winter snow removal. County attorney Pat Nolan noted that a contractual change could be made upon agreement by both parties. Loss figures were shown the council by Cox and a decision was made. Back rent was credited to Cox and the county accepted respon-sbility for winter snow removal. Bill Herder, seasonal businessman at Panguitch Lake appealed to the Board of Equalization about property taxes set at a business rate on nonbusiness property. After scanning Herder's documents, commissioners, decided to' review Herder's documents in depth, make a decision and notify him by telephone as soon as a determination has been made, and send a follow-up letter. Dave Williams met with the commission of Equalization to discuss the tax rate he was charged with and which he felt was excessive. Williams' taxes were adjusted downward on four pieces of property with a fifth piece under discussion by both Williams and county assessor Tom Simkins. Burt Nichols, Brian Head entrepreneur has been furnished a radio and crystal by Garfield County Sheriffs office in order to report winter road conditions on the Panguitch Lake Road. A letter was read from Joan Pascarell, Las Vegas, and came under discussion by the commission. The letter stated she had an M " automobile accident two miles above the lake road when her vehicle struck a large rock in the middle of the road. The matter was turned over to county attorney Nolan. |
