Show EMT Course Slated In Garfield Region A final call is going out this week countywide in an effort to recruit volunteers to enroll In the latest series of basic Emergency Medical Technician training classes set to begin Friday, at 6:30 p.m. at the Panguitch Elementary School. Classes will run for eight weeks, on Friday evening and all day on Saturday, with four additional Wednesday evenings included. This basic course, although strenuous and requiring a heavy commitment on the part of the enrollee, provides participants with invaluable training in emergency care and offers tremendous opportunities for community service and pride. Operations Officer Bob Mc-Cullough once again urged participation mainly in the Panguitch area as this will be the final course offered in this area for approximately two years. The cor.t of the course is $85 but sponsors are available for financial assistance. The Panguitch City Council has indicated a willingness to cover the cost of training for EMT s who will commit to complete the course and serve actively on ambulance duty for the period of one year. Further information and instructional material are available by contacting Bob McCullough in Panguitch at 676-8842 on Thursday or Friday prior to the beginning session. |
