Show " Sidewalk Funds Allocated To Communities Three Garfield County communities will participate in Utah's Safe Sidewalk Program as they share $6,700 out of the $1 million appropriated for fiscal year 1983 for new sidewalk construction along situate highways around the state. Sidewalks will be built in Panguitch, , Tropic and Henrieville in areas potentially dangeorus for pedestrians. The Utah Transportation Commission Friday approved plans for construction of new sidewalks statewide after a formula was devised to distribute the money fairly on a county-by-county basis. It takes, into consideration population, school enrollment and the number of pedestrian accidents in the county. Then local PTA and government officials worked with the Utah Department of Transportation in selecting specific projects. |
