Show Mr. and Mrs. Blake Robinson 50th Anniversary lo lie Honored July 19 ESCALANTE The children of Blake and Gurena DeLange Robinson will host an open house on July 19 from 3 until 5 p.m. in the Escalante LDS Ward Cultural Hall in honor of their parents' golden wedding anniversary. Friends and relatives are invited, but the couple has requested no gifts. The Robinsons were married July 18, 1930 in the Manti LDS Temple. They began their life together in Junction where Mr. Robinson ran a small farm and a herd of sheep. In 1943 they moved to Escalante and entered into the cattle business. Later Mr. Robinson opened and is operating his own business, Valley Finance Company. Many have become longtime friends through his love for horses and his affiliation with the Utah Racing Association. Mrs. Robinson attended Br igham Young University before her marriage. Through the years she has been a substitute teacher and a correspondent for many newspapers. Most of her life has been devoted to her family, friends and church. Their children are Mrs. Ben (Renee) Porter, Provo; Blake D. Robinson, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Joseph L. (Rhoda) Allen, Orem; Mrs. Mateland (Ruth) Baugh, Tropic; and Mrs. Bruce (Beth) Jacobsen, La crescenta, Calif. Mrs. Kay (Juana) Staples is deceased. They have 19 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. |
