Show City Agrees to Pay EMT Course Expense At the regular Panguitch City Council meeting held January 16, councilmen approved a motion to reimburse any residents taking the EMT course. Consideration will also be given to enrollees living outside the city limits. Henry Jolley, superintendent, Garfield County School District, Laurel Holman, district clerk, and Sheldon Jackson, manager, Panguitch Community Community Pool, reported on the current status of the pool adding that they had reduced the staff for the slower winter months. Reporting on the television situation in Panguitch, Bart Lewis stated that Kent Parsons could be expected in Panguitch shortly to realign the equipment. Lewis requested a change in finances for the maintenance of the TV and radio systems. The matter was tabled by the council for further study. Council members discussed once again the possible cost of living raise for city employees. Motion was made by Art Crosby that the mayor and council members refuse their own wages except for $1.00 to help defray the cost of living increase. The motion was died for lack of a second. A similar motion was tabled until all council members could be present at a future meeting. Council members approved terminating Neal Clove whose responsibility had been to keep the boiler functioning in the library and to retain the services of Martha llenrie as custodian for the city room on an "on call" basis with wages to be negotiated accordingly. Schedule for use of the city room will be kept at the city office After further discussion about the state pension plan and snow clearance on city streets, the council adjourned until the special meeting on alternatives for a sewer system in Panguitch City to be held Jan. 23 at the Garfield County Courthouse at 7:30 |
