Show Country Corner Named Fish Award Station One of the world's leading outdoor magazines, Sports Afield, has named Chlarson's Country Corner in Tropic an official State Fishing Awards station. The Utah State Fishing Awards program is not a contest to see who can catch the biggest fish. Rather, it is a program to commemorate memorable moments in fishing by citing meritorious catches in two ways. The first way is the immediate awarding of a parchment certificate to each angler catching a qualifying fish. The second is awarding a special certificate and a sterling silver Sports Afield Sportfish Pin to the "Best in State" of each species, annually. The eligible species of fishes and their qualifying weights have been chosen by the Utah Fish and Game department. Entry blanks listing these fish are available at Chlarson's Country Corner. Fishermen can qualify for these awards by entering their catches within 60 days after the catch. Fish must be caught on sporting tackle in this state's public waters. There is no charge for entering. Recipients of the top awards will be listed each year in Sports Afield and kept in a national register for record purposes in the years ahead. |
