Kalhy Henry took Spelling Bee Winner Is Miss Ginger Reaves The Garfield County spelling bee was held in Tropic March 17, in the elementary school. Approximately 200 words were MMBd place and Pauline Pollock placed third. Both girlt are from Tropic spelled befoi e a winner was declared Ginger Reaves of Panguitch, seventh grader was declared the winner. First runnerup was Kathy Henry from Bryce Valley. Sixth grade and second runnerup was Pauline Pollock from Bryce Valley, seventh grade. Miss Reaves will represent the district in the state meet in April. Other contestants included Angela Fuller from Escalante, Rodney Savage, Tracy Roberts from Antimony and Ruthahana Boucher. Panguitch This is the second year the contest has been held in the district and George Jolley who was in charge of the event thanks the judges and parents who helped with the activity Their support was greatly appreciated, he said. |
