Show Escalante Chit Chat Fay Alvey 826-4231 We had another nice snow storm and some kind people graded the road, hauled in some gravel and covered up my mud hole. Mary Ellen Coleman is in the St. Marks Hospital in Salt Lake City for tests and diagnosis. Shirley Spencer is home doing ok. Linda Munk was taken to the Garfield Memorial Hospital with severe headaches, Bonnie Smith took Minnie Davis back to Panguitch to have her arm checked. Vergean Porter took Rol and Mina back to Richfield to meet some other family member to take them back to Provo for checkups. Mina has been taking walks and is feeling better. Arnold Alvey took Deon to Panguitch for x-rays, she hurt her already bad leg in the car wreck, it was not broken but the ligaments torn loose so she was ordered to stay off it and keep it elevated. Klyn Haws took Marlene to Cedar City for a checkup, she is doing fine. Others we heard of going to Cedar were Dawn Griffin, Almeda and Sharlene Haycock, Ivan and Nelda Willis The latter have a new car and took it to be checked, Nelda says it takes unleaded gas which is too expensive so they mostly park it and drive the pickup. Myron Cottam bought their old car Lincoln Lyman and Afton Leibenguth took some equipment to Evanston, Wyo. where Afton had employment. Donald and Darlene Griffin had business in Provo. Ken and Norma Schow brought more material for their home being built. Claron and Ruby Griffin went to Orem and took Hilda Roundy as far as Monroe. The Mati Spencers had grandson Darrell and wife here from Salt Lake City. The Lorenzo Griffins had son Lewis here from Provo. Twila Mclnelly, LaRue Spencer and myself joined other County residents to attend a meeting in St. George for a five county budget planning. Twila and I stayed there and spent four days at the temple. Frank Daly was there with an impediment in his walk, he said he bumped his little toes on a metal table leg. Ushur Spencer introduced us to his intended who is a lovely lady. Usher must have been thinking of things not pertaining to business as he did not have his official white shirt. The Wanles Alveys were there, the Arden Barneys and Lionel Christensen. Wayne and Chris Button spent the weekend here at the Arnold Buttons. Don't forget the party all adults are invited to attend. The Sophomores held their annual dance with decorations and a orchestra imported from Orem. Rolaine Lyman had both daughters home, Faye Sanifer from Wyo. and Dana Alvey from Cedar City The education day was held as scheduled but was not too well attended Twila Mclnelly spent the weekend in Panguitch at the home of her son Kent where her Griffin grandchildren were staying while Lynn and Judy attended an art exhibit in Arizona Visitors at the home of Beumont and Verda Griffin were Clark Moosman of Salt Lake City, Wanda and Al Whitton and son Michael of Ogden, Grace Moosman of West Jordan, Bertha and Reg Pool of Murray Lucile Cowles had hei parents, Mr and Mrs 'Arthur Whittaker ot 1 Circleville here for a visit.
