The Alton Shakespears have a new great grandson born to the daughter of Jeanette Sawyer. Mitch Littlefield is convalescing after a recent tonsilectomy. Tom and Alice Hobbs, Arnold and Ella Adair, Maureen Mangum and I .a Dora Baugh attended the training session in Beaver to learn how to do the testing in the Lions Screening Van that is to be in Tropic on Monday, April 17 Free testing and screening will be done for the people in the Tropic, Cannonville and Henrieville areas for glaucoma, hearing, blood pressure and diabetes, by members of the Lions Club Several of the Tropic ward members attended the stake leadership meetings in Escalante last Saturday. The Relief Society will hold its annual birthday party tonight at 7 p.m. There will be a dinner served, a program and dancing. All adults in the ward are invited. A cancer clinic was held in the church sponsored by the Cancer Society. Mr. and Mrs. Malen Littlefield spent a few days during the week in Salt lke City with their son and family. A special program was presented in sacrament meeting by the Primary and Jr. Sunday School. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Littlefield visited with the Ellis Littlefields in Henderson, Nev over the weekend Mr and Mrs. Carl Syrett spent two days in St. George during the week. Jay Shakespear and son visited with the Alton Shakespears over the weekend A fireside program was held in the Relief Society room The annual Youth Conference will be held in Escalante next weekend. Mr. and Mrs Ed Garrett attended the square dance jamboree in Redmond. Ron VcGee was home for the weekend. Keela Mangum took her children and Quint and McClain Mecham to St. George to visit Paul Mangum and other relatives Paul returned home for the weekend Beatrice Barton is in Cedar City visiting with her daughter, and helping take care of grand children while Michele is convalescing from recent surgery. Kristy Talbot had her sisters baby with her over the weekend while Randy and Kenny attended the state tournament.
