Show BSBS Panguitch Boy Scouts Shannon Davis, left, Brent Hraton. Ricky Davis and Kory Soper load some of the bundles of Panguitch Boy Scout Troop l, under Scoutmaster Earl Roe contributed $230 towards the building of the new Panguitch Stake center and has set a goal of another $360 to be paid as soon as possible. The boys earn the money by ' gathering newspapers and selling them to two different firms to be used to make insulation. Since beginning the paper gathering project about four years ago, the boys have earned about $800. They have carpeted their scout room, bought tents, Dutch oven equipment and back packs for each member of the troop, to be left with the troop as the boys advance to Explorers-, held parties with the Beehive girls and helped pay some of the expense on certain camping newipapers they gathered In fund-raltlng project. Troop recently contributed to the new Panguitch Stake Center fund Panguitch Scout Troop Give '250 To Building trips. At the present time there are 11 boys in the troop. Mr. Roe has been Scoutmaster for over 27 years. He said if someone wants their names added to the scouts list, they can call Mr. Roe at 676-2376 and the boys will gather the papers at least once a month. "I understand when thi people use the papers in thi fireplace, but if they just hau their papers to the trash, w would appreciate getting them He also said that a few peopli bring the bundles of paper which have previously had i string wrapped around them o put inside a cardboard box directly to his house, and this I very much appreciated. |
